Reality now stares us in the face:
There’s no such thing as getting beyond race
In this great country or in other places-
Like isolated kids scared of most races.
But here the causes differ if we’ll think
Most carefully and quick, before we sink
Into hostilities, defensive stances
That keep us in our oppositional trances.
Who kept our Bernie out of real contention?
What motives drove each one of the conventions?
The same dark force that’s been behind it all,
Preventing us from seeing, after all,
It wasn’t racial anger or backlash
But true apotheosis of God Cash.
