Imagine lyrics (John Lennon)

Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace, you

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world, you

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

John Lennon obviously yearned for peace, but at the expense of diversity. Allah didn’t create humans in the physical realm of matter so that we would all automatically live in love and harmony (that’s heaven, isn’t it?), but gave us free will to choose peace over disharmony, love over hatred, generosity over greed, sharing over attachment, cooperation among nations instead of conflict, unity over dispersion. The messengers Allah sends helps provide the way and guidance of Allah so that His Will and Purpose will be present on earth as it is in heaven. He made us of the physical (profane) matter of clay, and blesses us with His Spirit which will be poured out upon all humankind when we turn to Him in submission.

Lennon’s dream was the easy way, which is never Allah’s way. Follow Him, thereby following the Truth, and struggle and climb up the Mountain of Justice.

One Created Earth

Poem

Oh Holy One
where are the hearts of your believers?
You have been forgotten
in genocides and starvation
You have been forgotten
in the oppression of women
You have been forgotten
in the corrupt power plays of the world’s governments
You have been forgotten
in the dominance of wealth controlling the earth’s resources
You have been forgotten
in the hatred toward the “other”
You have been forgotten
in the trashing of Your created planet
You have been forgotten
in the invisibility of the world’s homeless
You have been forgotten
even among our neighbors
You have been forgotten and forgotten and forgotten.

It is suffering that shoots streams of creativity out of my heart, and the brokenness of life that explodes my heart into its soul.
