Is It the Apocalypse Already?

Silence is never a solution for injustice

In figures too big to dodge,
do you let your hands be free?

In faces too hopeful to ignore,
how do you fail to speak and see?

Wrecked hearts and homes,
dying voices and hopes,
grieving for sunken justice,
tasting mud and stones.

Is it the apocalypse already?

For it isn't getting any worse
than preying on the innocent,
familiar to the barbaric abuse,
but afraid to riot and dissent.

In figures too big to dodge,
lend your hand in kindness.

In faces too hopeful to ignore,
be the voice of the voiceless.

I write because i’m aware of the power words have. I use mine to tell stories, rant on issues that bother me and turn my life and self into poetry.
