It’s heavy, man

it’s heavy
eight minutes and
forty-six seconds

man

enough time for Kobe
or Lebron
to crush
a twenty-point lead

with chains
around their wrists

do you feel the weight of it
the foundation
of a plantation on your chest
the torsos
of dead slaves on your neck

it’s heavy, man
it’s heavy

eight minutes and
forty fucking six seconds

heavy

enough time for Husain Bolt
to set the hundred-meter record
fifty-five times

with chains
around his ankles

think about it, man
fifty fucking five times

I feel the weight of it
see if you can breathe.
