Who do I have to be,
a man, a woman,
to serve my country,
to protect my family?

Aren’t I told to be myself,
a man, a woman,
in this democratic system,
in this free country?

Why, oh why, then
have you abandoned us,
father of my homeland,
this great nation?

Why, oh why, dear father,
are our contributions,
our offer of protection,
less than others?

Am I that different?
