The worn out weary door of the Whitehouse
Smacks the backside of each as they leave
And grudgingly they grouse
yet brag of the best they could achieve

When rats fled from the Titanic
Or wreckage from Hindenburg dropped
There was no such chatter, just panic
But by now, we’re more numb than shocked
