She did not choose to risk it,
Nor was she pardoned,
by hungry hearts hardened.

A martyred brisket,
sacrificed for Thanksgiving,
but she’d rather be gobbling.

Unwilling symbol of gratitude,
we thank you with our hungry attitude,
Now please, can someone pass me a biscuit?

Lest we forget her…
