Please

a plea for returns

Photo by Dean Truderung on Unsplash

i need new words
now — while i still have breath
to push them out
one by one
birthing meaning
returning to my right mind

for four years now
i’ve sung no new songs
had only this stunned silence
offered nothing from this space
emptied by shock
