Punch Coronavirus in the Face

Make a fist.
Your clenched fingers will remember not to touch your face.
Raise your fist in the air,
And pump it toward injustice, inequality, ineffectiveness.

Don’t hoard masks.
Unless you are a care provider.
Or sick.
Or unable to keep a continual fist.

Believe in science.
Believe in the humanity that made science.
Believe in those risking their lives
So you could crowd together to buy toilet paper.

Wash your hands.
Soap and water, scrubbing,
Better than sanitizer,
Unless you are still in line for t.p.

Twinkle, twinkle, twenty seconds.
Because it’s prettier than Happy Birthday
And for who did you light candles,
The burning virus?

You are the twinkling star
In this show, sing from balconies,
Love they neighbor,
From a safe social distance
