Another man
Was shot aga’n
What a surprise
We have surmise
That the police
Will unleash
Brutality
On key
With its brand
They stand
To oppress
The very best
Black lives
They die
At the cause of “justice”
Deeming them worthless.
Rayshard Brooks
Is not a crook
Why did he die
It’s a lie
That he’s criminal
It’s cynical
To assume
With gloom
That it’s alright
To take his life
When all he did was drink and drive.
But it’s true
And nothing new
That black lives
Won’t stay alive
If we keep
The streak
Of police brutality.
