Rage on

As long as the waves run to the shores

How do we keep up the fight?
Rage and fear were enough to keep us going
A year ago, this horror was new
We fought for right and for ourselves

That rage and fear carried us
When women and scientists walked
Our numbers carried a strong message
Showed we disagreed with the administration

We raged, we walked, we supported
When Trump tried to outlaw immigrants
Of a certain belief or background
We made it obvious this wasn’t us

We raged again to keep our healthcare
Over and over — And still we rage
For whatever we do or say those
Republicans don’t hear our truth

We rage against the political machine
We try and try to make them see
People matter more than dollars
People matter more than companies

We rage because the old white men
Keep trying to replace Obama’s legacy
With one that counts money and power
As the only thing that matters.

We rage because all people matter
The earth and the sea matter
Science, education, intelligence, peace
They are what matters

We’ve raged.
For a year
We will rage on
For justice and peace

As long as the waves run to the shores
