Shelter-in-place

shower in the morning
keep your schedule
don’t touch your face

don’t make a sound
hide under your desk
in a locked closet

but when you do
wipe every doorknob
wear a mask
and rubber gloves

push the bookshelf
against the door
don’t scream
don’t cry

is it Tuesday
look out the window
clap at seven o’clock

close the blinds
turn off the lights
stop whispering
footsteps slow

play the long game
play any game

bang bang

stay home
save lives
