Taking just four years to dismantle
more than a few lifetimes worth of work
with belligerent pride claiming benefit
for a nation held in complete disregard.
Yet there are those convinced,
rallying to the call of a most unpatriotic caustic voice.
Veneers carefully crafted over millennia
pulled apart, sanctioned by their leader
gift wrapping freedom of vitriolic words,
repeated, spewed out by those whose hearts
allowed themselves to be blackened waiting in the wings
to finally be set free.
