It’s suddenly surreal
Watching the Politician
(Season 2, episode 5)
On our primary Election Day, June 23, 2020.

Vote for the incumbent: she knows
What she’s doing.
Or the upstart new blood
For the sake of change?

No one knows
What the future holds
We make the best decisions we can
With the information we have.

But sometimes our collective decisions suck.
Carolyn Maloney or Suraj Patel?
Deedee Standish or Payton Hobart?
Life imitates art imitates life.
