Thought this would be a good title for this LGBT Ballad

The Ballad of Bowling Green

We were there that fateful day.
How brave they are we heard them say.
As we marched behind our Rainbow Flag
we trudged on with pride and swag.

That rainbow flag, it still flies high
see how bright it fills the sky.
Under our banner, we fight the lies
that truth and justice do despise.

The opposition blamed the Middle East
But we all fought another beast.
With lies and hatred they hit us hard
many of us were deeply scarred.

That rainbow flag, it still flies high
see how bright it fills the sky.
Under our banner, we fight the lies
that truth and justice do despise.

Sing to them that stood their ground
as projectiles of hatred hit the ground.
Sing to those that gave their lives.
when their hearts were pierced with steely knives.

That rainbow flag, it still flies high
see how bright it fills the sky.
Under our banner, we fight the lies
that truth and justice do despise.

Many died along the way
still many survived and did not sway.
For many years, we fought this war
with beneficence and veracity at our core.

That rainbow flag, it still flies high
see how bright it fills the sky.
Under our banner, we fight the lies
that truth and justice do despise.

In the future, we’ll hear them cry
We are equal as our flag flies high.
In this land once filled with grief
now hope and love is our belief.

That rainbow flag, it still flies high
see how bright it fills the sky.
Under our banner, we fight the lies
that truth and justice do despise.
