The faded daytime moon

Hollow ghost of loneliness

Shadow of its other self

Whispers of unspoken desire

My eager ear is yours

Specter of foreshadowing

Nestled in the empty sky

Eyes of hope you cast

On distant longing shores

Wistful eerie messenger

Of sallow cheerful gloom

Come sing your song anew

With silver streaks beyond

Ethereal sphere of pale assurance

Guides the hearts a-home

Amidst the turmoil far beneath

Your light is spoken clear

Most of the moon’s sphere shining like a light surrounded by the dark sky
