The weight of it all
A “slightly more than” one-liner off of Debbie Aruta’s prompt

If we do not watch out
If we do not intervene
Our lives, our health
Our everything
Will shortly cease to be
For the one who is
Our president waits
Ready, able, and
Quite willing to squash
Our country’s very soul
It has not taken much
For him and his awful crew
To sell us to another land
The cost of their treason?
Their weight in gold and rubles.
Our democracy deserves better
Than these one percenters
If it were up to me, they
Would lose it all and
Have to live on nothing.
