Wake up world.
Wake up to your history
Wake up!

Are you achy?
Are you restless?
Are you dreaming?

You slept through slavery.
You slept through racism.
You slept through the alarms.

No beauty in how you sleep.
No rest for your weary mind.
No chance to catch up.

Under your blankets.
Under the weather.
Under wishful thinking.

Can’t sleep anymore.
Can’t close your eyes.
Can’t dream your dream.

Put your feet on the floor.
Put night fears aside.
Put others before your comfort.

Take heed.
Take care.
Take no thought.

Dreams without action.
Dreams not just your own.
Dreams awake.

Night time without darkness.
