Redacted lines
Government lies
The unspoken rule
A political tool
Vietnam set the stage

Chemical suppression
Coughs of death
Pray for the Syrians
Laid to rest

Battle over Yemen
Cries whimpering, afraid
Politics to blame
Governments to shame
These are real lives
Not pawns in a game

Human beings
Innocent souls
Young and old
Dying every day

Hunger’s a crisis
Only to those with no names
Sinking bellies
Those in charge with full plates, don’t know the same
They’re worried about their endgame
Sacrificing lives
No extra ones to gain in the real one people are forced to play

The atrocities across the world
Bring pain to millions
Radical power
Hungry men
Killing civilians
For some it’s the money
Others, it’s the cold pride of a villain
Either way
Innocent lives are lost in their decisions
