what if tomorrow
there’s no more need
to hang signs or march
our hearts have bled
enough

what if tomorrow
we don’t have to resist
we can live free again
the edges of our souls
ironed

what if tomorrow
creativity spills
out of every crack
every shadow
aflame

what if tomorrow
strife trances break
hope returns and
humanity is safe,
nourished
