Never been to one.
Who’s who and everyone else.
We were all invited.
Bring your own mask,
to the pandemic.

Not a costume ball.
Not a social dance.
Chaperoned by a president,
who thought he was great.
No one knew, just what to wear.

Dressed to impress,
our mirrors alone.
They won’t notice,
the clothes that we wear,
when cloaked in nothing but fear.

Those who danced,
with ignorance and self,
will sorely regret,
when choices are lost
and nurses drape their gown.
