Who Would I Be?

A question for all women

Who would I be without the chores,
The laundry, diapers, grocery store?
If I broke the ceiling, not mopped the floor?
Would I be me? Or would I be more?

Who would I be without the stress,
Of always trying to look my best,
So I could pass an unspoken test?
Who would I be if I could rest?

Who would I be without the fear,
That one day my rights will disappear?
Will my body still be mine to own?
Will the hardest choices be mine alone?

Who would I be if having equal rights,
Was a guarantee and not a fight?
I could see myself with perfect sight,
If I could be all that I might.
