Excerpt from Violin
“Seconds flow, undetected, out of your lungs, out of your heart, in beats and breaths colliding in midair. Invisible fireworks — the finest.
I write this because I don’t know what to write. I write this because I am surrounded by beauty. I write this because my heartbeats hug the inside of my t-shirt but can’t go any further. I write this because the air I breathe out is smoke from a fire, and the fire is from a picture, and the picture is from a memory, and the memory is dead. I write this because here, courage and fear don’t exist. I write this because here, you don’t exist. I write this because snowflakes collide with the background music in midair.
Soundless fireworks — the loudest.”
