Excerpt from Winter

“Stare into the eyes of the stranger in the mirror. Gaze at the dimmed stars that gave their sparkle away. Where are you now? Whatever became of the dream? A lonely bird sang his cage away. A broken song broke my beats today. A fallen friend screamed his pain away, today. Some birds just stop singing, for good, because they’re dead inside; others fly away, so they can sing again. Maybe it’s time to break away from the reflection in the mirror. Maybe it’s time to wake up. Maybe it’s time to take off.”
