Last night I watched a 9/11 documentary available on ITV. It was so traumatic to watch and I kept on sighing throughout. It was such a traumatic incident that I had to pause it pray that nothing like this ever happens again.

Here are some of the things that I am still reeling from after watching this documentary.

Those of us who were too young to really understand

Over in the UK, the 9/11 attacks made front page news. We were very much as outraged and saddened about it as Americans were.

I was 11 years old, in my first year of secondary school when it happened. I remember my parents turning up the radio as they announced it on the radio. I also remember being sad that something awful had happened but I certainly didn’t dwell on it. I moved on think on other things that a pre-teen might be thinking about.

When I watched the 9/11 documentary a little girl was being picked up from school and asked about the news he had heard. ‘What happened to the world trade centre’ the little girl asked, ‘did it disappear?’ The parent clearly shaken, they lived just a few blocks from…
