In late August of 2005, the unthinkable happened. A hurricane hit New Orleans and left nothing behind but debris and the memory of what used to be. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) took several days to establish a plan of action and even when the plan came about, it was poorly thought out. Survivors were put in an unfair situation that left them with their hands tied behind their backs. The injustices continued with their public spaces and more importantly their public education.
