It sounds like an incredible story, but it’s true. Tesla has just recalled half the cars it has ever built.

According to the reports, Tesla has recalled 123,000 Model S sedans after the company learned that the vehicles may experience a loss of power steering, which could lead to accidents.

The company sent a letter to impacted vehicle owners voluntarily. In it, it explains that 123,000 Mode S vehicles built before April 2016 come with steering bolts that may experience excess corrosion. Because this could cause the steering bolts to crack or fail.

While the company said that no injuries or accidents have been associated with the problem, this issue comes right at a time that Tesla is struggling with a series of reports of accidents associated with the company’s signature cars.

Because Tesla is such a beloved company across the United States because of its electricity use, it’s hard to imagine it suddenly becoming insolvent because of issues tied with some of its technologies. This recall does not help, as it’s one of the largest the company has had to launch.

We hope that this doesn’t put an end to the company, but we also hope that Tesla is able to prevent further injuries and accidents by having issues like this addressed immediately.
