  1. Follow a fitness regime and lose some pounds.
  2. Save money and spend wisely.

What you just read was my 2024 resolution.

I didn’t entirely complete resolution one because sticking to a fitness regime is something I struggle with. I always end up returning to an unhealthy lifestyle and gaining back some pounds.

I partially completed resolution two, because keeping myself motivated every day to spend wisely was a huge struggle. I often forgot about my resolution altogether.

However, it makes me wonder: Should New Year’s resolutions even exist? Are they necessary to kickstart a better life, or do they just create unnecessary pressure?

There are two sides to every coin.

Why the failures?

What causes so many abandoned resolutions?
