A Timeless View

The journey south begins, spanning the boundary between Washington and Oregon, from Mount Hood to the Columbia River. Before 14 days of travel, the send-off view from Washougal recalls the indigenous landscape, while downriver, Vancouver’s identity evolves. Then, a swatch of Portland, whose once touted urbanist stock is now under scrutiny in the era of post-COVID evolution.

Change is cyclical, dominates conversation, and is often beyond our control. All the more reason to look carefully. Each view tells a story of how change proceeds.
