Why do I use words like ‘apparent’ when I am sharing an understanding of the bible?
Because I am not the final authority on what the bible means. Neither are you. Neither is my pastor. And neither is Billy Graham.
The bible itself says the final authority is the Holy Spirit.
The bible only asks us to teach one another, to confess to one another, to comfort one another.
That’s the only job that we have been given as followers of this faith, and it is my utmost desire never to lose the humility of knowing what I cannot know for sure.
“For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.” Romans 12:3
