This newsletter is taking a detour…

On Monday, July 8, it will become one full year since I started writing my second daily newsletter, Retail Christianity.

Since that time for one whole year (17 months for The Daily Vulnerable, which I began in February 2018), I haven’t missed a day of both newsletters as — supported by my incredible team including Damola, Bolu, Biola, and Ado — I have shared from my heart every day. The reactions I get from all of you have made that sometimes-tough journey completely worth it.

I have treasured the most important gift of my daily writing — that I have become a sort of friend for many, helping whisper into their ears and hearts truths they already know; reminding them so they can find the permission within themselves to be wholly human.

It’s a privilege to participate in your lives every day in this most intimate of ways.

And now, the mission is going to take a small detour. This part of my assignment is changing.

As I have continued my journeys, listening to what Life is trying to say to me, it became clear to me that The Daily Vulnerable was mine to launch, but not mine to hold on to. Its power goes far beyond me as we build a community of people sharing honesty the things that make us human, the things that make our hearts beat with warmth, and the things that make us love with ease, with joy, with flourish.

So after a long back and forth with my team, as we took a walk one beautiful sunny evening, it came to us: open it up. Open it up to the stories of others across the world who have their vulnerabilities to share, including those of you who read this dedicatedly every day.

From Monday next week, that phase of this journey will start. The Daily Vulnerable will now be about the stories of many others old and young, black and white, rich and not rich, famous or not, from across the world. We may be reaching out to you now and again, in fact, to join those contributions. Every once in a while, I believe, I will also share my own stories of vulnerability and living fully.

At the same, I will be rounding up Retail Christianity.

But that is not the end of my personal sharing. In fact, it is a beginning. Instead of running two personal newsletters, as from Monday next week, I will be running one called With Chude. In that newsletter, I will be continuing the attempt to be a friend with you on our journeys through life — but rather than focus solely on Christianity or Vulnerability, this time I will be sharing on whatever is laid on my heart, whenever it is.

Sometimes it will be on business, sometimes, it will be spirituality, sometimes it will be my faith, sometimes it will be on markets, sometimes it will be on identity, and maybe at other times, it will be on science. Wherever my heart goes I will share with you the wisdoms I am learning, the wisdoms I am rumbling on, and the lessons that Life is teaching me.

I will be taking all subscribers from both newsletters with me to this new community, so we will still be together. However, if you don’t want to join that community just email us here and we will ensure to do as you have asked.

I am very excited about the journeys life is taking me on, including a possible book tour for The Daily Vulnerable and Retail Christianity next year, and the things that my spirit is already saying to me about With Chude. As I reach each milestone, I will be sharing with you.

Don’t be sad. Change always looks sad at first. But then when we open our hearts, we find out that it’s a gift for us to widen our experiences, open our hearts, and bless our spirits.

I look forward to the beautiful places this will lead us to…
