You didn’t stop believing in God

You stopped believing in the medieval myth “of a bearded old gentleman sitting above the cloud” dispensing gifts and punishment.

You stopped believing in a love that didn’t really feel like love, mercy that didn’t really look like mercy, and grace that didn’t wrap you up in its arms and make you safe, secure, sacred.

You stopped believing in what you had been told, who you had been sold, how you had been scolded.

Not in God, who is yet undefined, as God always has been.

Maybe you need to find God for yourself.
