Klarna and Paris Hilton open ‘House of Y2K’ On Melrose Ave
Klarna and Paris Hilton collaborate for a one-of-a-kind space that explores three immersive spaces that will take you back to the nostalgic and colorful era of the early 2000s, curated by the queen of Y2K, Paris Hilton.
Designed to highlight three themes — technology, fashion and beauty — the pop-up will transport guests back in time to the dial-up era where shopping was anything but smoooth, before guiding them into a modern, serene Klarna world, filled with elevated shopping touchpoints, makeover moments, and iconic items from Paris Hilton’s private archives.
David Sandström, Klarna Chief Marketing Officer says, “Paris is the undisputed queen of Y2K, so when we decided we needed a partner to co-create a space dedicated to all things Y2K and shopping, Paris was our number one choice.”
He added: “Paris is a global trendsetter, and just as shopping has evolved since the 2000s, so too has Paris. Together, we invite guests to experience how far shopping has come over the last 20 years, thanks in part to Klarna, while enjoying several Y2K inspired activities.”
The first floor focuses on the evolution of shopping and how far it’s come — thanks to smoooth shopping with Klarna. Here, you’ll get to see Paris’ own iconic Y2K memorabilia, up close and personal. The second floor celebrates the 2000s’ contribution to the world of makeup and beauty — get glammed up and ready for the paparazzi! Lastly, the third floor hosts a space for you to relax in the sun, kick back with a cocktail, and snap a Paris-worthy selfie.
“The 2000s were such a special moment in pop culture and I love that so many of the iconic fashion trends are back in the mainstream,” said Paris Hilton, CEO, 11:11 Media.
She added: “I’m excited for fans to visit the `House of Y2K’ to celebrate these trends and experience how far shopping has come over the last two decades thanks to new technologies and products like Klarna. Not to mention I also get to bring out my fave personal items — some of which haven’t been seen in many years!”
In addition to the Melrose Ave pop-up, Paris Hilton X Klarna have launched ‘That’s Smoooth Tracksuit’ collection available online at parishiltontracksuits.com for $225 USD.
