Now more than ever sustainable solutions need to be accessible and affordable to everyone. People rightly need to focus on keeping their families fed, warm and clothed, but climate change cannot wait. Climate action cannot wait. We need to act now and manage all of the problems facing us.

And the thing is, focussing on high impact and affordable solutions will help with the cost of living crisis. Insulated homes will lower heating bills. Affordable, green and integrated transport networks will help reduce commuting costs. And so on.

Struggling people must be able to grab happiness where and when they can, and must not be made to feel guilty about doing so. We can’t understate the importance of happiness, mental health, and morale, in this fight.

Again, affordable solutions play a part in helping people find those moments of light in the darkness. Less money spent on the mechanics of staying alive means more money available to make it a life worth living.

It means choosing help before judgement.

It means picking the right targets for our ire, our condemnation, our anger. (Hint: it’s not your neighbour)
