#BigParentingIdea — All You Need To Say

Last day. Parting words. What will they be?

What will you say to your kid when he or she leaves your house and goes into the world?

On the last day of his trip with his son Casey Neistat made a video where he said this to him before he said good bye to him at college:

Good luck at college Owen. Call me if you need anything. Don’t take shit from anyone.

It’s beautiful. It’s all you need to say. It’s all your child will need.

No guidance. No lecturing. No nothing. Just love and deep belief. In his ability, his competence to figure things out by himself and carve out his own path.

Everything that will continue to matter already happened. Day in and day out in all those days you were together.
