For you guys to be 100% prepared for REVAIN crowdsale starting on Monday, August 21st, we’re sharing a quick guide on purchasing cryptocurrency and setting up a cryptowallet to be able to get our tokens.

Let’s look into how you initially buy the coins. First, log in to the most universal platform LocalBitcoins.net: no matter where you’re located physically, it’s gonna work. There you buy bitcoins. Then you transfer your BTC to an online stock exchange to exchange it to any other currency: Ethereum, Dash, Monero, etc. We will be accepting a wide variety of coins during the crowdsale, so you can choose between: Bitcoin, Bitcoin cash, Ethereum, Ethereum classic, Dash, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Monero, NEM, Peercoin, Namecoin, Zcash.

If you’re in the U.S., Coinbase would be the simplest option to buy Ethereum, Bitcoin, or Litecoin (it doesn’t support any others yet). After verifying your account, you add a number of payment methods including credit or debit cards, U.S. bank accounts, etc. Other options for exchanges that will take U.S. dollars for coins are Kraken, and Gemini in the U.S.

You have your coins now. The next thing you do is placing them into a cryptowallet. Normally you choose the wallet according to the currency type: for ETH we recommend to use such wallets as MIST / MY ETHER WALLET / TREZOR / LEDGER NANO S.

Generally, there are two main cryptowallet types: a software or app wallet that you install on your laptop (hot wallets) or mobile device (cold wallets) and a web wallet. Here are some wallets that we recommend:

Coinbase

Coinbase is a web wallet with a simple design and a number of very useful features. You can send and receive bitcoins via email and buy and sell bitcoins directly from Coinbase. A full-featured Android app enables access to all account functions on the go. Coinbase’s founders have a proven startup track record and have raised money from very prominent venture capitalists. Blockchain.info

One of the quickest and easiest ways to get a Bitcoin wallet is to simply go to Blockchain.info and fill out their brief requirements. Blockchain.info is another web wallet like Coinbase and provides a simple setup and mobile access to your account via their app.

Electrum

Electrum is a software wallet that enables you to set up a strong level of security very quickly. During the simple installation process, you are given a twelve word phrase that will allow you to recover all of your bitcoins in the event that your computer fails. Your wallet is also encrypted by default which helps protect your coins against hackers. Electrum is available for Windows, OSX, and Linux and is our recommended software wallet for beginners. Bitcoin Wallet for mobile

For those looking for mobility and security, we recommend the simply-titled Bitcoin Wallet mobile app. It is a software wallet, so you retain complete control over your bitcoins. It also works well with QR codes and NFC, making transferring coins to someone else’s phone easier than writing a check.
