Idea

Using Amazon Alexa’s voice technology, and Machine Learning tools to generate synopsis of each classroom session

The Problem

Classroom learning may not be equally effective for all the participants. Some people are good at listening, comprehending, and assimilating key learnings from a classroom session. But most people aren’t.

The Solution

This application provides a learning aid to the participants to help them assimilate the lessons.

How?

  1. Alexa captures voice from the classroom session
  2. The recording is fed to Machine Learning tools via web service
  3. The web service generates a meaningful synopsis of the class and pass it back to Alexa
  4. The synopsis can be either in instructor’s own voice, or transcripted as text.
  5. This synopsis can be, with an optional step of review by instructor, made available to all the participants in real-time immediately after the class, and also emailed/messaged to the participants for later use.

Why?

  1. This application is useful for both professional and academic learning environments.
  2. It can used in online classes, face-to-face classes, training sessions, webinars and so on.
  3. The synopsis can be used by the participants to review learning from the class much after the actual class. E.g. students can revise the course material a day before the exam quickly by listening/reading the synopsis of all the classroom sessions.
  4. This synopsis can also be used to perform quality review of instructors and course material.
