As a customer of multiple Dyson products and the owner of the Dyson V8 Absolute as well as multiple pets, I can honestly say that this vacuum is worth the price as it does the job in no time flat.

Features of the Dyson V8 Cordless Stick Vacuum:

Compared to the Shark Rocket (HV382)

• Starting at $249.99, Shark offers a more affordable price than their competitor (Dyson). Despite a similar appearance, the Dyson functions as a hand held cordless vacuum while the Shark has a cord that runs up to 30 feet. Each have a lightweight design for easy clean up and multiple attachments that can help serve any mess. The suction power of the Shark is N/A and the motor is also N/A. The durability and effectiveness of both technologies is up in the air as both offer incredible features to help clean any mess.

Shark Rocket (HV382) Specifications:

• 9.9lbs with a cord length of 30 feet.
• Can hold up to 0.91 dry quarts of dust.

Pros: Very durable, I drop it at least 3 times a day. Long lasting battery life. Lightweight and easy to use.

Cons: Falls over easily. Clogs easily when vacuuming rabbit hay. Limited storage capacity. Seriously Expensive.

• I would certainly recommend this to anyone with one rabbit, two cats, one dog, a hamster and a half dead hermit crab. It picks up hair like a dream and can withstand being used as a sword or battering ram. Dyson products live up to their standard and they have built a great, low noise vacuum for families. As a broke, nearly homeless college student, I would buy this or ask for it as a birthday present.
