Feetures! Elite Ultra Light No Show Tab Socks Product Review
I’ve been running recreationally (with a few competitive races mixed in) for about 8 years. I run approximately 10–12 miles per week and typically run in the street. Good running socks are crucial (some say they’re as important as your shoes) and can make or break your run. Hopefully this review of Feetures! Elite Ultra Light No Show Tab Socks might help you decide if these socks would be a good fit for you.
Personal Experience: Feetures! is a brand of athletic socks that I wear almost exclusively. The “Elite Ultra Light No Show Tab” is my favorite model. I’ve tried other models that are no longer available, but found that there was too much cushion in those and they made my feet too hot. I started wearing special running socks about 5 years ago when I began running longer distances. Regular cotton socks were giving me blisters, so I did research and learned that nylon/spandex socks are a great alternative. I’ve used special running socks like Feetures! makes ever since.
About the Product
Specifications (listed on product site): “Sock-Lock Technology” compression, 95% nylon, 5% spandex, “anatomical design” fit, iWick moisture-wicking fabric, “The Perfect Toe” seamless toe, available in 6 different colors and in sizes S-XL.
Purchase Options: The company’s website sells this model for $15.99. There is a link to “shop local” to find retailers in your area. I buy my socks at Fleet Feet Sports in Portland, Maine and usually get them at a lower price. Feetures! offers many options for colors, sizes, and types of athletic socks.
Pros: These socks keep my feet dry with moisture-wicking fabric to reduce odor, irritation, and discomfort. They are also made specifically for your right and left feet, which provides a snug fit and reduces wrinkling, which can lead to discomfort and even blisters. Feetures! offers a lifetime guarantee on their socks, which makes them a great investment. The socks also last years if proper care instructions are followed. I have never had a pair of Feetures! socks wear out or rip and some pairs I have owned for at least 2 years.
Cons: The biggest drawback to these socks is the price. Paying over $10 for a single pair of socks makes it difficult to acquire a large selection. I only have one pair of the Elite Ultra Light No Show Tab socks but wash them frequently in order to wear them as much as possible.
Alternatives: I’ve tried Balega’s “Hidden Comfort” socks as well, as they are available at a retail price of $14.00 and their website claims they’re the “No. 1 Sock in Running.” However, I found these socks to be too thick and make my feet sweat more during runs. I have also worn the Balega Zulu Quarter socks. These are available in a 3-pack for $15. This seemed like a great deal, but all of the socks stretched out to at least twice the size after about a year. I ended up giving them to my dad to wear, which clearly shows the amount of stretch — he’s a Men’s size 10.5 and I’m a Women’s size 9.
Conclusion
My Recommendation: I highly recommend purchasing the Feetures! Elite Ultra Light No Show Tab Socks. They are extremely comfortable and they protect me from blisters and irritation. Though the price may seem a little steep for a pair of socks, the lifetime guarantee makes them worth every penny.
