Verilux: product review
I bought this awhile ago as light substitution. As a chronic eczema sufferer, I know what works and what doesn’t, so I was curious to see if this actually would.
Name: Happy Light Lucent
Specifications:
- 6.5" x 8.5" (w x h) with stand, 4.5" (d)
- 10,000 lux
- 1 lb 3.9 oz
- portable (detachable stand)
- simple touch button
Price: $44.95
Purchase options/alternatives:
- Verilux.com
- Amazon
Experience: a few years, usage limited to fall through winter. Personally, I only use it a duration of 10–15 mins a day, although it may be different according to severity of symptoms.
Pros:
- consistent light is available, regardless of weather conditions, time/zone, or place
- relatively inexpensive
- durable, not easily breakable, & lasts long time without lowered quality
- portable — small size and light weight makes it easy to use anywhere
- unlike most electronics, longer use doesn’t make the product hot or a health hazard
Cons:
- Not battery operated
- Wiring may be irreplaceable
Recommendations:
I highly recommend this for anyone struggling with skin conditions that do not respond with moisturizers and steroidal creams. There are a variety of other sizes and shapes with different features on other LED therapy lamps.
