Your very first glimpse into our GEN HIP HOP report, “Power In Numbers,” is here!

Opening up the magazine is our introductory chapter, “Welcome To Gen Hip Hop,” where we outline the methodology and key segments that provide the framework for our study. Here, while we’ve coined the term GEN HIP HOP to represent today’s youth for whom Hip Hop is a defining generational influence; for the purpose of our research, we define our main key segment, GHH, as Gen Z and young Millennials (ages 13–34) who rank Hip Hop within their top three most-listened-to genres of music. Get it? Got it?! Good!!!

Next, we share stats and music consumption data that lay the foundation of Hip Hop’s cultural dominance, showing how Hip Hop has become a global phenomenon connecting all corners and embracing all walks of life. Notably, when asked which culture shapes their everyday life the most, Hip Hop culture topped the list of Gen Z and young Millennials, beating out pop, national, and global culture. As affirmed by our report, today, Hip Hop is pop culture.
