Generating RPG Tethered Assets: Phase 2 of Development

Since the inception of Revolve Games we’ve set out to build a gaming ecosystem on a solid DeFi economy. One of our main focuses is bringing new innovation into the ever blossoming GameFi landscape. Weaving gameplay with DeFi and creating a play-to-earn model which by design combines the value of the NFT-verse with the native RPG token, is something we have been hard at work at and will continue to refine and expand upon the mechanics and economics in which our vision of Revolve Games is based upon.

One of the main value propositions of the Revolve ecosystem is that actionable assets in the metaverse are tethered to stakes of RPG. This means a large portion of the value of the NFT-verse is contained within the native token and vice versa (every actionable NFT asset is backed by a stake of RPG tokens with fungible value). These assets are used within the gaming metaverse and their staking rewards are performance based.

After completion of Phase 1 of development, we are now focused on development of Phase 2. Phase 2 is where RPG staking tethered asset generation will come into play.

The purpose of this article is to put Phase 2 of development into context, discuss its purpose, how it fits in with the ecosystem and give a sneak peek into its UX and UI.

Closing The Value Gap Between NFT Assets And The Native Token

Many blockchain gaming projects are heavily NFT oriented, often we see the aggregated market value heavily leaned towards the NFT-verse. This leaves a value gap between the native token and the secondary NFT market of a project, especially when the token utility is shallow.

By tethering actionable NFT assets in the Revolve Games ecosystem, a large portion of the value of the NFT-verse is represented in RPG, the native token of Revolve. This is great news for more passive investors of RPG and simply healthy for the value of RPG; it means the more people spawning assets such as characters, vehicles, game builder packs etc, the more RPG tokens there are being locked up, reducing the circulating supply and increasing the value of RPG.

It’s important to note though that not all assets in the metaverse will be tied to a stake of RPG. For example; skins, land and assets ontop of land, space pets and more will not be independent assets. But a selected few asset types which are central in gameplay will be tethered to the native token, embedding gameplay deep within the token utility.

Performance Based Staking Rewards of Tethered Assets

The staking rewards of each staking contract tethered to an NFT is performance based. A staking contract tethered to a character will receive better staking rewards as it increases its level through gameplay, the same goes for spacecrafts. Whereas the staking rewards for a staking contract tethered to a user built game are dependent on the popularity of that game.

Random Trait Acquisition of NFT Assets

When generating character and vehicle NFTs, traits are randomised but based on a weight system. Larger stakes will have a higher chance of acquiring rarer traits over common traits. Traits include things such as skin type, helmet, backpack, tattoos etc.

A Sneak Peek At The UX/UI

So let’s take a quick look at UX flow and UI of asset generation and inventory.

1️⃣ Navigate to the “Generate Assets” page.

2️⃣ Choose which asset you would like to stake and generate. Enter in desired RPG amount then choose the asset type (eg. Character type). Click the “Stake & Generate” button.

3️⃣ Your asset will be generated, with randomised traits (larger stakes increase roll weight and give higher chance of acquiring rarer traits).

4️⃣ On the asset creation pop-up, you will be given the choice to accept your generation or reroll (regenerate). Regeneration incurs a 2% fee.

5️⃣ Assets generated can be viewed in the Inventory. Total amount of RPG staked is displayed at the top of the page and average APY. Staking rewards can be claimed in this section. The inventory can be sorted by category, type and filtered by traits, stake amount, rarity etc. Individual asset stake

6️⃣ To bulk unstake, select each tethered asset you would like to unstake and hit the “unstake selected” button at the bottom of the page.

7️⃣ In the inventory page, click into any specific asset to see its stats. From here you will be able to push it to the marketplace to sell.
