Movie Madness

Nothing’s quite as recursive, nor a better inducement to madness than seeing your filmed image tomorrow of what you’re doing today. A well cut, professionally shot movie, posted anonymously to Youtube, and linked to from Facebook, concerning the mundane adventures of your daily life, today, watched from your phone on the M train tomorrow. Recalling then the spaces, the rooms you’ve been in just now, streets, stores, studios, try as you might you cannot recall any cameras being where the video proves that cameras had been; nor any hidden gopros either but based on the length and artistry of the long central tracking shot — concerning you chasing the pages of an important manuscript blowing wildly around Union Square — there should have been a great deal of gear and personnel, key grips, gaffers, lighting, boom mikes, to record so faithfully your valiant pursuit. It’s like you’re the unwitting comic hero in your very own Wes Anderson movie. But goddammit it’ll get a lot of views; so you’ve got that going for you.
