Nearly two years ago, John Solis and I embarked on a journey to make software pricing more experimentation-driven. We had built billing, payments, and other monetization engines for well over a decade, but the both of us saw first-hand how it was difficult to iterate quickly on pricing, and easily fall victim to analysis paralysis.

Naturally, businesses were already experimenting in the wild. Although, they couldn’t use existing tools, and these experiments were done in hand-written contracts and spreadsheets. It made it too difficult to support their hypotheses beyond trailing indicators in revenue or very small cohorts.

The most interesting discovery in our research was over 93% of the companies we talked to did not have their product usage data tracked or available inside their revenue engine.

After dozens of coffees, meetings, and prospective interviews, we felt like we understood the customer pain. In the summer of 2018, we met Muzzammil Zaveri. At that point, he was so intrigued by our discovery work that it blossomed into a relationship with the firm at Gradient Ventures who is leading our seed round that we are announcing today, along with Ray Tonsing of Caffeinated Capital.

In addition, thanks to the backing of our investors, advisors, and early customers, we are now able to expand the team to improve the experience of pricing for everyone. In the last year, five amazing individuals have taken the leap of faith with us, and we’ve been busy baking RevOps. A big thank you to the team for making this journey possible.

And today, we’re very excited to share that RevOps is now available!

RevOps is a fast and simple way to craft & sign proposals, improve visibility in approvals, and setup billing instantly. Get started for free without a credit card!

RevOps is sales productivity platform, but it’s so much more –

We’ve created a system flexible enough to track and version pricing for everything from enterprise sales motions to pay-as-you-go plan changes. The technology will allow companies of the future to run blind pricing experiments on B2B sales teams, generate A/B testing for pricing plans, and any other scientific-based approach to pricing.

We hope you like it, and if you don’t, tell us what you’d like to see!
