Demolition, Baby!

Tear ’em down
break it up
rigid attitudes

cementin’ you shut

wrecking ball
lever release
swing it girl

drop it, please

sweep it round
let it swirl in
to a mound

a new world

of places
new shapes
renewed days.

hit it hard

crystals of sweat
drop from
flattened brow

while you concentrate
swing your pick
ameliorate

take aim

at the walls
dividing you still
the tears may fall
let them all

pool at your feet,

compassion is
oh, so sweet,
let it flow-

rush in to the streets

demolish the arches of
long held beliefs
ones that won’t bend

but imprison
Love in the end.

Open an opening

enough to slip through
let your love build up
what fear deconstructs

bring it all down

to rubble — and dust
it’ll take what it takes

to renovate us,

bring a hammer,
a pick,
and your heart.
