Spoilt Decadence in Fading
And on, through plant-side evergreen
We gasp in purple light
While snails commit to ecstasy
In elegiac pride.
Forlorn, apiece, this stardust road
As withering as youth,
The shrieks of echo-lions ring
From animals aloof.
White oranges grow vividly
Of sugar-crystal seed
In these byzantine peacock groves
Where ancient starfish bleed.
Majestic revelations cling
To shaded corner dust,
Yet hollow are their secrets and
Chimerical their trust.
