Summer’s Headstrong Advice:
A poem

The Summer had headstrong advice for me;
Languish in the grass, bare-chested,
you might not get another chance.
Feel the ocean gently spit in your face,
freshly shaven.
Before the cinders gather,
kick a little sand in the fire.
Guard your spirit carelessly,
cling to all the beauty you can,
and shred every last dollar
in your empty hand.
And, fly to a secret place,
where ecstasy exceeds
only your pain.
