The One Thing That Lifts People Out of Poverty is Not a Skill
Rich people can recognize it. Poor people can’t
Have you ever tried to pitch an idea to a rich person?
Maybe a billionaire?
Or a millionaire?
I have. And I have several times.
And I don’t learn much from their response and feedback. That varies.
The one thing that feels constant is the look they give. That look says everything.
It’s often a look that says, “You want me to give you my hard-earned money for this?”
After a while, I stopped pitching ideas to those people. It wasn’t going anywhere.
I was told ideas rule the world. And one idea can change your life. Turns out ideas aren’t worth anything.
Rich people are not looking to invest in the next big idea. As much as they like to use that phrase, it is not true.
Rich people are looking for something that has caught fire.
They are looking for success they can plug into. Their success is most likely obsolete and they need something to stay relevant.
