RISD Council of PTAs — 38 Campuses Reported 189K Hours at $4.6M In-kind Hours
38 campuses reported 189,723 volunteer hours for the 2017–18 school year throughout Richardson ISD. At the independent sector rate of $24.14 per hour, this equals to $4,631,138 volunteer funds donated to the district.
“The Council of PTAs in RISD has a strong presence and commitment to promoting the mission of PTA on all campuses,” believes Meredyth Childress, RISD Council of PTAs President. “The amount of hours spent working in our schools is evidence of true partnership between families, community and the district.”
Campuses were recognized by the Board of Trustees this month.
Platinum Award winning schools (reporting at least 10x the number of students enrolled) are: Arapaho Classical Magnet, Big Springs, Bowie, Brentfield, Canyon Creek, Dartmouth, Hamilton Park, Mohawk, Moss Haven, Spring Creek, White Rock, Yale and JJ Pearce.
Gold Award winning schools (reporting at least 3x the number of students enrolled) are: Heights, Jess Harben, Lake Highlands Elementary, Merriman Park, Northwood Hills, Prairie Creek, Prestonwood, Wallace, Lake Highlands Junior High, Berkner, Lake Highlands High School, and Richardson.
“We are so proud of the volunteers and thank each person who is there for all our students and staff,” said Childress.
RISD Council of PTAs is heavily involved in supporting the district and the group ranks among the top PTA organizations in Texas.
