RISD To Honor Trustees during School Board Recognition Month
A dedicated group of seven members, the Richardson ISD school board oversees more than 39,000 students, nearly 5,000 employees and 55 campuses with an annual budget of $442 million.
Trustees dedicate countless hours as advisors, decision makers, problem solvers and supporters of the district. They receive no compensation for their work ensuring excellence in education.
RISD gladly joins school districts across Texas in recognizing January as School Board Appreciation Month.
“It’s more important than ever before that we show support for public education,” RISD Superintendent Dr. Jeannie Stone said. “Board members face critical challenges in their roles as advocates, but they continue to stand strong and guard against anything that threatens to undermine the success of our public schools.”
RISD Trustees include President Justin Bono, Vice President Dr. Kristin Kuhne, Treasurer Kim Caston, Secretary Jean Bono and members Karen Clardy, Eron Linn and Katie Patterson. Combined, the group has more than 30 years of experience as Trustees.
“Our district benefits from the contributions of these local citizens who truly care about our kids,” Dr. Stone said. “We applaud their willingness to serve.”
